The department of Anatomy & Neurosciences VUmc is involved in a broad range of teaching activities at the bachelor, master, and post-doctoral levels. Our teaching program involves human anatomy, pharmacology and neuroscience in the medical and biomedical curricula, as well as postgraduate courses and medical specialist training programs.

Mission statement

Our mission is to provide an excellent learning environment for students of all levels and in which the basic sciences anatomy, pharmacology and neuroscience are dealt with in a clinical context in order to provide an understanding of disease mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment.

Equaly important, we aim to teach in the context of our neuroscientific research activities to provide a top-level academic environment for our educational activities.

We further aim to initiate and support public outreach activities in order to spread new knowledge and insights among those interested in the main public.
